What to Expect
Arriving for Your Appointment
If this is your first visit, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete a health history form (unless you’ve already done so online).
Your Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) will review your health information and ask about relevant medical history, such as medications, surgeries, injuries, and any current conditions. Providing accurate, up-to-date information helps your therapist create a safe and effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Discussing Your Goals and Preferences
During your consultation, you can share:
Areas you’d like to focus on or avoid
Your preferred pressure level (light, moderate, or deep)
Your treatment goals (e.g., relaxation, tension reduction, pain relief, or improved range of motion)
With your consent, your therapist may also perform a brief physical assessment to better understand areas of tension or injury.
Sensitive Areas and Consent
According to the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), the following are considered personal sensitive areas:
Chest and breast tissue
Inner thighs and groin
Buttocks
RMTs may provide treatment to these areas only with clinical indication and your written consent. You may withdraw consent at any time during your session.
Before Your Treatment
Your therapist will explain how to position yourself on the table and then step out of the room to give you privacy to undress to your level of comfort.
We recommend removing all jewelry except small earrings. Rings, chains, bracelets, and other sharp or bulky items can cause discomfort or injury during treatment and cannot be replaced if damaged.
When you’re ready, your therapist will knock before re-entering the room to ensure you are covered and comfortable.
During Your Massage
Once your session begins, feel free to communicate at any time—whether you’d like to adjust pressure, positioning, or focus areas. Your comfort and safety are always our top priority.
